Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer 1 night stays?  Sorry but no.
  • Do you offer 2-4 night breaks?  For much of the year, yes. However during periods of peak demand, most guests wish to book for one week or longer. As such we sell 7 or 14 nights stays at those times.
  • How good is the Wi-Fi?  Very. We now have fibre to the premises, and with a bespoke router system we are able to offer free Wi-Fi to unlimited numbers of devices throughout the cottages.
  • How far is it to Longleat?  It takes 15-20 minutes by car from Moorleaze.
  • How do I get 20% off Longleat day tickets?  Because we sell so many tickets each year we are able to buy tickets from Longleat and offer them at a discount of 20% to the gate price.  We earn a commission and this is used towards our advertising costs. We can order them anytime until the evening before, so let us know which day you are going, how many adult, senior and child tickets you need and we do the rest. Tickets are non-transferable and despite numerous requests by us we are unable to offer 2-day or concession tickets.
  • Do you allow pets?  Sorry but we are strictly no pets however small or well-behaved, though registered assistance dogs are obviously welcome. Sorry if this seems draconian to animal-lovers, but we often have guests with allergies who require very clean cottages for their safety.
  • What are the arrival and departure times?  Arrival is any time after 15:00 hours, and departure is by 10:00 a.m.  This gives us time to ensure the cottages are ready for the next occupants. On Sundays we try to extend the check-out time until noon, but we cannot guarantee that in advance.
  • Is smoking permitted in the cottages?  Anti-smoking legislation covers the holiday cottages, swimming pool and games room. As such, smoking in the cottages (including the doorways) is strictly forbidden.
  • Do you have BBQs?  Yes, there are ten available but you will need to supply your own charcoal and firelighters.
  • Is there plenty of parking?  Yes, we have loads.  You are welcome to drive into the courtyard for loading and unloading, but we do ask that you then use the car parks. Aside from the visual aspects, it is safer for children that way.
