Stay and explore Moorleaze
There are over 70 acres of gardens, fields and woodland for you to explore at Moorleaze. The secret garden is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the tranquility here, and the setting frames the evening sun beautifully. It's not that unusual to see hares in here - all the hares seen above were photographed within a few yards of the cottages.
Guests are very welcome to walk in our fields, though obviously we would ask that animals are not disturbed and gates are closed! One of the fields has views across to King Alfred's Tower. Roe deer are frequently seen in the fields, whilst the trees and boxes in the woods are home to many varieties of birds, including barn, tawny and little owls.
One of our favourite places for a glass of wine in the evening is sitting on the platform in front of the cottages, looking west towards the setting sun and Mendip Hills. Some guests were doing just that and were lucky enough to have a barn owl fly within a few feet!
